Name is one of the oldest symbols of China, and its symbolism goes back thousands of years.
This year, however, it is getting a boost in popularity.
According to Chinese news site Zuowei, the Chinese government has announced a name change for a necklace that was launched in 2016 and which features the name of the Chinese president, Xi Jinping.
The name change was announced on the website of the People’s Daily, the country’s Communist Party-run newspaper.
The new necklace will be sold at an event in September, according to the Zuawei report.
The event is expected to attract about 500,000 people.
This is the first time that a Chinese president’s name has been changed for a piece of jewelry, Zuawai reported.
The necklace has a yellow sunflower and a ruby and jade buddhha design, according a statement from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce.
According the ministry, the necklace was inspired by a new slogan from the ruling Communist Party: “Make the Sunflower Flower Shine Bright.”
The necklace was launched by Xi Jinping’s son, Li Keqiang, on April 24, 2016.
The president and his wife Peng Liyuan had recently been celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Communist Party’s founding, which was celebrated in January.
Xi Jinping was born in 1949.
