Posted February 16, 2020 09:24:56It was just before Christmas when I received a phone call from my wife and the other woman in my life, saying their rings had gone missing.
We had been looking forward to Christmas together, but after two days of searching we found the rings on the ground outside our house.
They were missing.
I didn’t know what to do, so I called my wife, and I asked her what was going on.
She told me I had to come to her house.
I told her I was on the phone with a friend of mine and I was in the middle of a big meeting and couldn’t make it.
My husband and I rushed there.
I didn’t want to get lost.
I found a small wooden box with my wife’s ring in it.
I opened it and the ring was gone.
I was devastated.
I had only ever seen it once before and the thought of having to go back home and find it again, was too much.
I called my brother and told him I was sorry.
He was distraught.
I think it was my brother’s phone.
He said, ‘We’ve got the ring’.
I couldn’t believe it.
The ring was in there, and it was so precious.
My brother and I went back to my house, but when I got there I found my husband with a bloody gash in his face and my wife bleeding.
I started crying and saying, ‘I’m sorry’.
We were just going through a tough time and we were just trying to cope.
I just started crying again and I thought to myself, ‘What if I didn and I got hurt?’
So I started looking through my things and I found a piece of paper.
I put that piece of papers down and started to read it.
On it was written, in a small print, in white, ‘You’re not going to believe this.
This is the ring you found in my house’.
And then I saw it was mine.
I couldn’t have asked for a better gift.
I went back and got my ring.
It’s been there for 15 years and it’s never gone.
It was a beautiful ring, a beautiful piece of jewellery, and now it’s in a safe place.
