When the world’s most populous country and the world leader in tourism are playing against each other, you don’t usually expect them to be able to hit it off.
But in the case of the pair of white pearls that China’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism has unveiled in a bid to show off the two nations’ respective cultures, the odds are not too good.
The pearls, named the “Peridot” and “Buddha” in honour of their patron deities, were created by two Chinese artists to represent the two countries’ cultures, respectively.
The Peridot is one of the world`s most famous pearls.
Its beauty is so sublime that it`s been called a “God of the Pearl”, with more than 200 countries naming it after its shape and appearance.
Buddhism is a more widely-known religion and is practiced by more than 60 nations, including India, China and Indonesia.
While the Peridots were created to celebrate a common symbol, they are also symbolic of two nations that have very different cultures.
While China has an official religion of Buddhism, which has been the worlds dominant religion for centuries, India is more closely aligned with Hinduism, which is the dominant religion in India.
Both India and China have their own traditions and cultural values.
In fact, India has the highest number of Hindus in the world, followed by China.
And while the two sides are very different, the two are also very similar in terms of their history.
While India is considered to have been the first country to settle on the moon, China is believed to have colonised it.
And both China and India have suffered from centuries of political and economic turmoil.
China has suffered through one of its worst economic crises in the last quarter of a century and it is believed that about 40 per cent of the population have dropped out of the workforce, according to a survey published by Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in September.
But India is still growing.
According to a report released by the National Bureau of Statistics, the Indian economy grew by 1.2 per cent in the second quarter of 2017.
China is expected to report its fourth quarter GDP figures in March 2019.
In the meantime, the Perids have become the focus of the two leaders’ recent visits to India, in which both men visited temples to pay their respects.
China said it would donate the pearls to India to honour the “sacred sites” of both countries.
The pair are expected to spend a day at a temple in New Delhi and another day at the Ganga river shrine in the capital, Beijing.
The pearl necklace was unveiled by the Chinese Embassy in New York on Wednesday and is being auctioned off for $1 million. (AFP)
